Anwar Fazal was born and brought up in Karachi, Pakistan and discovered his love for English literature at an early age. He completed his graduation from Islamia College, Karachi and then moved to the United States to continue his education. He received a M.A. in English Literature from Duquesne University and a M.A
in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. Later he received a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Pittsburgh, where he is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Political Science.
He has also taught as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Barbara, University of Washington, and Wayne State University. He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta, The International Honors Fraternity, where he serves as a writer and editor for The International Honors Magazine publication. Anwar currently lives in Pittsburgh with his wife Sofiya and their two children, Nicholas and Catherine.
